ACHIEVEMENTS

An achievement is defined as a thing done successfully, typically by effort, courage, or skill. Many achievements completed by geocachers tend to center around challenges - from finding the most geocaches, to finding the highest (or lowest), the furthest, or oldest.

The Wizarding World Geocache Series

The Wizarding World Geocache Series

"Upon the signature of the International Statute of Secrecy in 1689, wizards went into hiding for good. It was natural, perhaps, that they formed their own small communities within a community."

— The secrecy surrounding the wizarding world

The Wizarding World, also referred to as the magical community, is the society in which wizards and witches live and interact, separate from non-wizarding society. The two communities are kept separate through the use of charms, spells, and secrecy. Wizards and witches are forbidden to reveal anything about magic to Muggle society due to the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy, but that does not mean that the two worlds live entirely apart.

Momma Monster and I have just had published a fun new series of geocaches that are themed around one of our most favorite novel series, Harry Potter

The series consists of 14 Traditional, 1 Multicache, and 1 Puzzle geocache (along with on 1 Bonus Mystery Cache).

Each geocache is considered to be a portkey, which are magical objects enchanted to instantly bring anyone touching it to a specific location. In some instances, portkeys bridge the Muggle world with the Wizarding World. Typically, a portkey is an everyday object that would not draw the attention of a Muggle and often a portkey is hidden in plain sight.

The portkeys of this geocache series are sure to take geocachers on a magical journey to somewhere important in the Wizarding World!
